Bechraki Venia
Venia Bechrakis was born in Athens. She has studied painting in the Superior School of Fine Arts of Athens and received a scholarship from the Alexander Onassis Public Benefit Foundation for MFA studies in New York University. She has also received the Jack Goodman Award for art and technology in 2002 and the Gerondelis Foundation Grant in 2001. Also, Bechrakis received in 2003 a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for a one-person show in Real Art Ways, Connecticut.
She has made many one person and group exhibitions such as:“Urban Dwellings” at Zina Athanassiadou Gallery, “Within-Without” at Zoumboulakis Galleries in Athens, “Within-Without” at Real Art Ways, “Material Links” Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), “Environment-Action ‘08”, etc. Her work is installed in “Eleftherios Venizelos New Airport of Athens”. She lives and works in New York and Athens.
